To present the Gospel for Salvation and Christian Growth through Prayer, Worship, Witness, Bible Study and Fellowship
Buffalo Lick Baptist Church was organized on July
30, 1888.  With twenty-four charter members the
church was to have quarter-time preaching and
Sunday School each Sunday that weather permitted.

The late Rufus and Jane Overby had donated two
acres of their homestead on which the church was to
be created.  In 1889 a one room frame building was
built.  To this structure four educational rooms were
added in 1947, and by 1952 two more additions -
one to the front and one to the rear of the building,
had been completed.  To accommodate a growing
membership, a new church building was erected in
That building continues to serve the Buffalo Lick
congregation.
By 1945 services had increased to half-time with
Sunday School each Sunday year-round.  A Training
Union and a Women's Missionary Union were also
organized that year.

For a number of years, Buffalo Lick Baptist Church
has had a full-time pastor with services being held
each Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and a
mid-week Bible Study on Wednesday.
